Blogging Tips and Tricks

How I get my blog posts ready for the week quickly? – BLOGGING SERIES !

IMG_4950c

Hello everyone! I get this question so often. How I manage to blog often and keep my social life, work and school in order? It’s not easy at all, but I have some advices and tips for all of you busy bloggers out there. This post is first part of my BLOGGING TIPS SERIES that I’m going to do. When I posted my Blogging tips and tricks post I got such a lovely respond from bloggers who wanted to read more about it, so that’s why I’m doing this series. I hope you’ll enjoy posts to come and that they would be helpful to you. I wanted to post this as soon as possible because you guys have been requesting it so much, that’s why there is so many posts on blog lately, hopefully you are enjoying it!

I’m not going to be really active next week or so, that’s why I posted so many blog post in last couple of days. Basically I’m going to be really busy so I won’t be able to upload anything (actually I didn’t prepare more posts), so I’ll just re upload posts that are basically on blog already just to make sure something is happening on blog, hope you don’t mind it too much. When that’s out of the way let me tell you how I get everything ready for a blog post!

1. Inspiration for what to write!
First you have to have some kind of idea what you are going to blog about. I usually get ideas before I go to bed, you know at night inspiration is in full swing. So I make sure I write all of my ideas for blog posts in my blogging journal, because if I don’t do that I usually forget. Then I go through my ideas and get products that I want to write about or include in specific blog post. I try to keep my content as interesting as possible, but of course I’m mainly beauty blogger, so I usually write about makeup and beauty products. But doesn’t matter what is your writing field inspiration comes and goes, so make sure you use full advantage of those inspirational moments!

2. Writing blog post!
I usually do this at night as a part of my night time routine. That is the best time to do it because usually at night I just chill, so I don’t do anything productive related to school or work. For me writing the actual blog post is the easiest part of getting post ready. I always have inspiration for writing so it takes me about 10 – 15 minutes to write a full blog post. I usually write 2 to 3 posts in one night, so I have writing part of blog post ready. I just save it in my POSTS folder on laptop and use it when I upload posts to my blog. I make sure when I finish with writing a blog post that I take a break. Then after that I read post again, just to make sure are there any mistakes or to re arrange sentences or add something to a text. Before I upload post on blog of course I read it just to make sure that everything is perfect so there isn’t any mistakes!

3. PHOTOS!!!
This is probably the most time consuming in getting posts ready. I usually take one day of my week for this. It’s usually during weekend because that’s when I have the most “free” time. I never take photos just for one blog post, I always combine more of them. This way you’ll save time, because taking photos is messy. My room ends up looking so messy, there is things everywhere doesn’t matter if I do one blog post or more of them. My advice is to have idea of posts and then combine all of them when you take photos, just changing the layout and props.

4. Picking photos and editing
This is my least favorite part I think. It’s just so tiring. My laptop usually crushes while editing photos and it gets so slow, it makes me go crazy. For one blog post I take about 50 – 80 photos, so choosing the best ones is really hard and it takes a lot of time. I usually use up to 5 photos per post, because I don’t want to over load posts. Editing takes a lot of time also just because I like to edit one photo different ways just to have an option and then I choose the best one. I don’t recommend doing this because it’s useless, you are going to end up using just one photo so there is no reason to edit it so many different ways. But as I said before I’m a control freak and perfectionist so for me everything has to be in order and perfect.

5. Getting the best from situation
If I have a nice night party planned out I’ll try to make a blog post out of it. Doing a get ready with me or makeup look is good way to make a blog post while actually getting ready for a party. It takes a bit longer because you need to take photos, but get ready posts are one of the best ones, they are always really popular. Also, it makes blog a lot more interesting when you actually add yourself as a part of posts. It’s good to read someone opinion on something but it’s also nice to see person behind blog in action sometimes as well. Because that way you as a reader feel like you know the person behind blog you are reading!

This is actually the makeup look I wore on last date I went, so I decided to do it a little bit early just so I can take photos and make it into a blog post! I already posted this on blog, check it out here.

6. Uploading
This is the final step that sometimes takes the longest. You want your blog post to be perfect so you go through all details to make sure it is perfect. Sometimes I upload two to three posts in one go and schedule them just to save time if I’m super busy during week, so content on my blog is fresh and there is loads of new posts. Also, re uploading posts in really important if you want more people to see and read your posts.

If you have any questions to ask, please do in comments, or on Instagram or my FB page. If you need something related to a blog, feel free to send me a message!

That’s everything from me for this post. I hope you enjoyed it. Let me know do you do any of these things like me or you like to do post by post whenever you have free time? I find this way I save so much time, so it doesn’t feel like I’m forcing myself to blog. Do you have any tips for bloggers to stay on top of their game? Share your opinion with all of us in comments! Thank you for reading!

  1. Great post. I agree, taking photos is really time consuming so it’s good to take extra, to save for another blog post.
I’m a really slow writer and reader though, I wish I could go faster.

  2. Photos really do take a lot of time, but it’s enjoyable for me. Editing is what makes me go crazy, but at the end of day it’s worth. Thank you for reading. xx

  3. I love taking photos also, just don’t really like editing part. It takes so much time. It means that I will re upload them so they will be a different date on them, it’s still the same post, but it will also be in readers list so more people can actually see it. xx

  4. Great tips Azra! I also love write most of my blog posts during the evening, and I like to write quite a few so I can schedule them over the next couple of days. Photos is also a big part of my blogs, whenever I go out or think ‘I could do a post about this’, I take hundreds of photos XD but only a small selection ever go up.

  5. How do you re-upload your post? I feel like I have some good ones that I love but were from when I first started blogging back when I didn’t really have a following at all… they never got attention but I think would do well if I recirculated them!

  6. Glad I’m not the only one who takes a crazy amount of photos and then have to decide which ones to use! But, I do really like editing photos – it’s relaxing for me. I often listen to music while doing it.
I noticed that your posts often get reposted later after you’ve first post it. I get confused because I know I’ve seen the post and then it pops up again. Can you tell me why that is?

  7. You should do more posts about reaching an audience! I’m really working hard on trying to grow my brand and my name and sometimes it’s hard to do! I agree with you that sometimes it can be hard to balance everything in your life. My mom totally yelled at me because I wasn’t doing my schoolwork, and I was spending too much time on my blog and YouTube!

  8. I find it time consuming, because I always re edit my photos, so it’s like I’m constantly doing it. I simply re post current post just to make sure that there is 2 days in between of posts (in time) and also it reaches more people, so the ones who didn’t read it the first time have opportunity to do so. 🙂

  9. I’m planning to do it as a part of this series, so it will come for sure, because it is really important topic to talk about. Sometimes we want to do everything besides school works, because let’s be honest it’s not that fun and interesting haha. xx

  11. I usually get my ideas at night too, I even think through the whole paragraph but I’m often too lazy to turn on the light and write it down, so I forget it(
I should add writing down ideas to my night routine)

  12. Definitely, I was like that also. It’s so easy to forget ideas, but taking 2-3 minutes to write it down helps a lot. xx

this is so stupid. why would you need your blog to be updated? if you’re busy, then be busy and get back on the blog when you have more time on your hands. and please stop bombarding people with posts. it’s great that you manage to write posts quickly but schedule it on different days and not different times of the day.

im not hating, just pointing facts.

  15. Thank you for your feed back. But I already explained that I don’t really like when there is a huge time difference between two posts. This is my way and I do it how I want it, no one actually said that they mind it. You have your way and it’s completely fine. This way you actually help people to see your content if they didn’t see it previously, which is more engaging for the blog. Take care. xx
