Hyped up products! – Are they worth the hype? (Skin care and lip balms edition)

We all know how hard it is to stay away from hyped up and overly talked about products. You always have this idea that popular product will change your life completely! But sometimes hype just doesn’t work for you, so I decided to round up some products that I bought because of their popularity and hype, so I decided to make a blog post talking are these products worth the hype!

We definitely have to thank bloggers, vloggers and social media influencers that hype up certain products. You just have to know who to trust, because bare in mind that some influencers are paid to hype up some products, maybe they are worth the hype but you never know will they work for you. So if the product is very expensive, make sure to do your research before just to make sure will you enjoy the product when you buy it.

I always make sure to test out makeup that is expensive, you know swatch it or take samples before I decide to spend money on it. Also for skin care you never know will something work for your skin because we are all different. Make sure to take advantage of samples because they can give you more information about the products than influencer can.

L’oreal Paris Detox masks – REVIEW
I have two the most popular of the whole detox line. One of them is definitely worth the hype, that is charcoal glow mask that one is amazing. Orange one, exfo mask is not really worth the hype for me. I don’t really think it makes amazing difference. I have full proper review on these masks, so make sure to check it out here.

Avon True Nutra effects light weight facial oil – REVIEW
It took me a long time to try this oil, but I had to because hype around this one is a real deal. I just wanted to know is it worth it. Well, it’s definitely really nice facial oil, but I don’t think it’s worth the hype. I read reviews were people claimed that this will change my skin, it definitely didn’t do that. I still enjoy using it especially in morning to prep my skin for moisturizer and boost hydration. You can check full review on this oil here.

EOS lip balm – REVIEW
These are probably the most popular lip balms ever. I don’t know why are these so hyped up, because it’s totally basic lip balm. It doesn’t do much to my lips, it’s nice don’t get me wrong but I feel like it just doesn’t deserve the hype. I think it’s mainly due to interesting packing and over all look, because the formula is really basic. Check out my full review on this lip balm here.

Maybelline Baby lips
I mean, everyone had baby lips in their collection, I’m sure of that. These were so popular before, literally everyone talked about them. It again took me some time to try them, because I usually don’t believe in hype. I picked one in “Intense care” and it was fine. It didn’t dry out my lips thankfully, but it didn’t help them either. So it’s very basic lip balm formula and I don’t agree with hype of these.

ChapStick skin protectant – Classic and Strawberry
Thanks to all American people this lip balm and Carmex are living of the hype in lip balm world. I like ChapStick lip balms, they are really nice and light on lips, but they do give hydration which is important. We can’t get these in Bosnia, so it will be hard to get hold of them when I use these up, but I think that these do deserve hype they are getting.

What are your thoughts about hyped up products? Do you believe the hype always? To me it’s definitely about the satisfaction when I try the products that people were raving about. I don’t know why but it makes you happy to finally try what everyone else seem to love. That’s everything from me today. I hope you enjoyed this blog post! Let me know did you try any of these products maybe? What are your thoughts about their hype? Thank you for reading. Have a nice day! xx

  1. I love the blog post! I have to say, Chap Stick, Maybelline Baby Lips, EOS lip balm has been talked about so much and I think that these products are overhyped so much. It’s just basic lip balm to me and they don’t do anything for me. I love using Carmex lip balm, though, so I definitely recommend that you try it!

However, the L’Oreal Paris Charcoal Pure Clay masks does wonders for my skin and kept my skin looking glowy and healthy. I haven’t used any of the other Clay Masks though. I haven’t heard of the Avon True Nutra facial oil, but I’ll do my research on it before I consider buying it. I really like that you review products that are “hyped” and see if they are really worthy of the praise it’s getting. Wonderful post!

  2. I have to agree that the Eos lip balms are ‘hyped’ and are kinda expensive for the product. I really like them and they are soothing on the lips but I feel that it’s just like the others and it’s not like it’s super omg amazing so not sure why there is so much hype about it. I used to use the Chap Sticks product but I started to buy the Eos because of the packaging lol. Awesome post girl ❤️

  3. I tried Carmex and I definitely agree with you, it’s the best lip balm from all these hyped up lip balm. It’s the only one that actually hydrates lips and makes them smooth. I didn’t have one on hand unfortunately, so couldn’t put it in this post. I love L+oreal Charcoal mask, it’s really good, definitely makes skin look and feel better. I’m also very careful when I decide which products I will try, because we definitely can’t believe hype all the time. Thank you. xx

  4. I feel like EOS has good marketing as they pay famous people to promote their product. It’s definitely also packing, I mean it’s super cute and hard to resist. I recently started using Carmex and it’s my favorite from all of these, it actually works for dry lips. Thank you. xx

  5. I used to use Babylips! They were so ‘cool’ back in the day, everyone had them! I never used the EOS balms though, I’m not majorly a lip balm kinda gal, I just use a Nivea one.

I’m always interested in trying ‘hyped up’ products because well, I want to know what everyone’s raving about and if they are really that good. But I’d never buy something for the sake of having a ‘popular’ product. If I like it then fair enough, but if not, I’ll leave it.

Interesting post, thanks for sharing hun 🙂

  6. That’s the best way to go about it. It’s really important to see is product meant for your skin type or does it meet your preferences. I do a bit research before buying product definitely, because I don’t want to waste my money just because the hype. Thank you so much. xx

  7. Loved this! I’m a fan of the L’oreal charcoal mask. It really cleans my skin out well. I don’t understand the hype with babylips really, I had a pink one that really stained my lips xxx

  8. I also like L’oreal charcoal mask, it’s definitely great for deep cleansing of skin. I want to try more of them definitely, I’m just waiting to use up some masks in my stash first, I have far too many. Baby lips are so over hyped and they are not even good. xx

  9. I don’t think I’ll buy another one. I liked this one, but it’s definitely not hydrating or amazing on lips. I think I just wanted to see is it worth the hype, it definitely isn’t. Thank you so much. xx
